These evaporators are the result of a combination of the two evaporators described above. For any given building height, they permit to double the length of the heat exchange tubes. There is also the possibility of evaporating a greater proportion of water out of the liquor, in a single pass.
The processed liquor can also be passed from any effect to the subsequent one without having to use transfer pumps.
